Kerry Watson Garner, Editor

Kerry Watson Garner is the editor of Triangle East Magazine, the leading quality of life publication for Eastern Wake and Western Johnston counties. Kerry was named editor in 2006.

In her role as editor, Kerry works with a team of writers, columnists, copy editors, photographers and designers to produce Triangle East Magazine six times a year. Kerry brings a philosophy of informing, enlightening, engaging and entertaining readers through fresh, original writing and photography in each issue that reflects the quality of life in Eastern Wake and Western Johnston counties.

Kerry is an alumna of East Carolina University. She also attended Saint-Petersburg State University in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she gained journalistic experience in media relations. Prior to joining Cherokee Publishing, Triangle East Magazine's publisher, Kerry was the education reporter for The Cary News and a general news reporter for the Knightdale Times (now the Eastern Wake News). During her years in the journalism career field, she has won 11 North Carolina Press Awards for feature, profile, news and enterprise writing and photography.

A native of a small community outside Wendell called Corinth Holders, Kerry is proud to be a "Johnston County girl."

Kerry and her husband live in Fuquay-Varina with their daughter, two cats and dog.
