Ron Smith, APR
Ron Smith, president of Cherokee Publishing, is the executive publisher of Triangle East Magazine, the leading quality of life publication for Eastern Wake and Johnston counties.
Ron has an extensive background in media, public relations and publishing. His career began in the newspaper industry, starting as a writer for several newspapers and later becoming city editor of a daily North Carolina newspaper. He later transitioned into public relations, where he held positions in several advertising and public relations firms. In 1982, Ron founded Smith & Associates Public Relations and has served as president of the firm ever since.
In 1990, Ron founded Cherokee Publishing and began publishing Auto Remarketing, a national automotive trade magazine. The company founded Cary Magazine in 2004 and expanded the portfolio to include Triangle East Magazine in 2005.
Ron and his wife have three adult children and are longtime residents of Garner, N.C. Ron is active in various civic and community organizations throughout Wake County.
